ResumeGenie ("the App") is developed and operated by Naveen Vuppula. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.

📋 Information We Collect

Account Information

• Email address — used as your account identifier for login and password recovery
• Name — used to personalize your resumes and profile

Resume & Career Data You Enter

• Professional profile — work experience, education, skills, summary, phone, location, and LinkedIn URL
• Job descriptions — text you paste or import for AI resume tailoring
• Generated resumes — AI-tailored resumes created from your profile
• Cover letters — AI-generated cover letters for your applications
• Job applications — companies, roles, statuses, and notes you track
• Uploaded documents — resume PDFs or photos you upload for OCR import (processed for text extraction)

Automatically Collected

• Authentication tokens — to keep you securely logged in
• Device information — platform (iOS/Android) for app functionality

🔧 How We Use Your Information

• Provide the service — store and display your profile, resumes, cover letters, and job applications
• AI resume tailoring — send your profile and job descriptions to our AI engine (Anthropic Claude) to generate tailored resumes and cover letters
• ATS score analysis — analyze keyword matches between your resume and job descriptions
• OCR import — extract text from uploaded resumes using AWS Textract and PyPDF
• Job URL extraction — fetch and parse job posting URLs you provide
• Authentication — verify your identity and secure your account
• PDF generation — create downloadable resume and cover letter PDFs

🤖 AI Processing

ResumeGenie uses artificial intelligence (Anthropic Claude) to tailor your resume content to job descriptions. When you generate a resume or cover letter:

• Your profile data and the job description are sent to Anthropic's API for processing
• The AI generates tailored content based on your experience and the job requirements
• Anthropic does not store your data beyond the immediate API request
• You retain full ownership of all generated content

🔐 Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Amazon Web Services (AWS):

• Authentication — managed by AWS Cognito with industry-standard encryption
• Profile & resume data — stored in AWS DynamoDB with encryption at rest
• Generated PDFs — stored in AWS S3 with server-side encryption
• All data transmission — encrypted via HTTPS/TLS

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

🤝 Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• Amazon Web Services (AWS) — cloud infrastructure, authentication (Cognito), database (DynamoDB), file storage (S3), and text extraction (Textract)
• Anthropic Claude API — AI engine for resume tailoring, cover letter generation, and ATS analysis
• RevenueCat — subscription management for Pro features
• Google Sign-In — optional authentication method
• Apple Sign-In — optional authentication method

Each third-party service operates under their own privacy policy. We encourage you to review their respective policies.

🌍 Data Sharing

Your data may only be disclosed:

• To comply with legal obligations or valid legal processes
• To protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (you would be notified)

🎛️ Your Rights & Choices

• Access your data — view all your resumes, applications, and profile data within the app
• Download your data — export your resumes and cover letters as PDF files
• Update your data — edit your profile, resumes, and applications within the app
• Delete individual items — delete any resume or application from within the app
• Delete your account — permanently delete your account and all associated data (Profile → Delete Account)
• Manage subscription — cancel or modify your Pro subscription through your device's app store settings

💳 Subscriptions & Payments

ResumeGenie offers optional Pro subscriptions managed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. We do not collect or store any payment information directly. All transactions are processed by Apple or Google through their respective platforms.

Subscription status is tracked via RevenueCat, which receives anonymized purchase receipts from the app stores to verify your subscription status.

👶 Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete such information.

📝 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
